Cloud gaming from NVIDIA

NVIDIA announces GeForce GRID platform and GPU Cloud

NVIDIA today, just held an event where the company has announced world’s First Virtualized GPU, Accelerating Graphics for Cloud Computing along with NVIDIA VGX Cloud Platform.NVIDIA GeForce GRID platform for cloud gaming is also announced today. NVIDIA has just created a new history as in 1999,  NVIDIA has announced the NV10 GPU, in year 2006 the company has introduced the G80 CUDA and in 2012 the company has revealed the Cloud GPU.GeForce GRID platform delivers the most advanced visuals with lower latency and also, saves power and money as the operating costs are kept low. With this new Gaming platform the users will be able to play the game on any connected device including TV and smartphone.
The cloud graphics software is also there and Kepler architecture is going to dump the power usage, so, this GPU is going to be really worthy.NVIDIA has focused on reducing game server latency throughout the pipeline, achieving an amazing 30ms reduction with this new gaming platform. The processors are having 3,072 CUDA technology cores and 4.7 teraflops of 3D shader performance. This will allow users to take the game on Cloud and then moving it on the GPU and with this new thing you will not have to touch the PC.Server power-consumption per game stream is reduced to about one-half that of previous implementations, so, it’s a sad part.
Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO, EPIC Games said:
“At Epic, we’re really excited about NVIDIA’s announcement of the GeForce GRID platform. NVIDIA’s GRID technology, with its latency reduction and improved image quality, combined with higher density and power efficiency, are significant steps toward making cloud gaming a true console-like experience today, and bringing that high-quality gaming experience to more people.Cloud has the potential to deliver an even more powerful experience in the future by enabling ultra-high-end GPUs like the GeForce GTX 680 to stream ultra-high-quality graphics such as those made possible by UE4 to a huge range of devices, well beyond console capabilities. The result will be that more people can enjoy EPIC’s games on more devices at higher quality.”

NVIDIA VGX platform lets employees to access the cloud PC from any device which includes, laptops, smartphones and tablets, but the condition is that the phone/tablet should be either running on Android or iOS operating system, the company has not brought any support for Microsoft’s Windows phone operating system. The platform’s manageability options and ultra-low latency remote display capabilities extend this convenience to those using 3D design NVIDIA VGX is based on three key technology breakthroughs–NVIDIA VGX Boards, NVIDIA VGX GPU Hypervisor and NVIDIA User Selectable Machines.
The NVIDIA VGX platform, including new NVIDIA VGX boards, the NVIDIA GPU Hypervisor and NVIDIA USMs will be available later this year and the GPU cloud gaming technology will eb also availlable later this year, anyway for more information check out the Press Release below.
