Overview
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a new compact saloon, Verito Vibe, in Indian market on 5th June, 2013. It is based on the Verito sedan, which was sold as Logan before. Verito Vibe is available in only diesel for now. It is available in seven shades and three variants: D2, D4 and D6. The price of base diesel model is INR 5.63 lakhs and the top model is available for INR 6.49 lakhs. The prices mentioned are ex-showroom Mumbai. It will compete with the likes of other compact entry-level sedans like Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and Tata Indigo e-CS. Mahindra has given looks of a hatchback to the Verito Vibe but it is a compact saloon.

Mahindra Verito Vibe has been developed in-house and features familiar front-end, which has been carried over from the Verito. The rear design of Verito Vibe is quite unique featuring huge tail lamps and raked rear windscreen. The hinges of the boot have been placed the bottom of the rear windscreen.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Interior
The interiors of Verito Vibe are almost same like the sedan version, which means you get decent legroom, headroom and shoulder room. It is one of the most spacious cars in its segment. The only downside will be the overall build quality, the problem Mahindra faces with all of its products in India. But it is good to see that they are improving with every new product and offer complete value for money.
Music System of Mahindra Verito Vibe
Verito Vibe comes equipped with factory-fitted 2 DIN music system with four speakers. It is a CD/MP3/FM player with aux-in and USB slot.

The length of Verito Vibe is 3991mm, width is 1740mm and height stands at 1540mm. The boot of the car is quite spacious at 330 litres and the kerb weight is 1155 kgs. The ground clearance is same to that of Verito sedan at 172mm.
Engine and Gearbox
Mahindra Verito Vibe is powered by the same diesel engine which is doing duty under the hood of Verito sedan. It is a 1461cc 4 cylinder engine, which generates maximum power of 65 bhp at 4000 rpm with maximum torque of 160 nm at 2000 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Mileage
The ARAI claimed/testes mileage of Verito Vibe is 20.8 kmpl, which is very impressive considering the overall size and weight of the car.
Acceleration and Performance
The weight of Mahindra Verito Vibe is quite similar to that of Verito sedan, so expect the performance and mileage to be in the same league. It is expected to be marginally better that the sedan version of Verito.
Safety Features
Mahindra Verito Vibe is a very safe vehicle, the D6 variant features door open warning light, collapsible steering column, anti-theft electronic encoded safety system, child proof rear door locks, prismatic inside day-night rear-view mirror, halogen headlamps, laminated windshield, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) and driver side airbag.
Suspension, Brakes and Tyre Size
The front suspension of Verito Vibe is McPherson type with wishbone links and the rear suspension set-up is H-section torsion beam with programmed deflection coil springs. The front brakes are disc type and rear ones are drum type. The tyre size of the car is 185/70 R14. The company is offering tubeless tyres on the Verito Vibe.
Variants
Mahindra Verito Vibe is available in three variants: base variant is D2, mid-spec variant is D4 and the top variant is D6. The D2 variant comes loaded with these features: manual AC plus heater, power windows, 2-speed windshield wipers, roof-rails, rear parcel shelf, collapsible steering column, front disc brakes, tachometer and dual horn. In addition to these features the D4 variant comes equipped with power windows, manual central locking and body-colored door handles. In addition to all these features the top-of-the-line D6 variant comes loaded with 2 DIN CD/MP3/FM player with 4 speakers, rear defogger, remote central locking, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, mobile holder, bottle holder, ABS plus EBD, and driver side airbag.
Mahindra Verito Vibe Price
Mahindra has priced the Verito Vibe very competitively at INR 5.63 lakhs for the base model D2 of diesel, the mid-level D4 is prices at INR 5.89 lakhs and top-of-the-line D6 is available for INR 6.49 lakhs. These prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.

Verito Vibe is available in seven attractive shades: Aqua Rush, Toreador Red, Dolphin Grey, Diamond White, Java Brown, Fiery Black and Mist Silver.
